Medicinal Mocktails for Vibrant Health with Marie-Lies of Fleur and Forage, June 7
Do you love a sparkling, refreshing summer beverage with interesting flavors? Using herbs and special herbal preparations like Oxymel or Bitters, you can make a sparkling beverage that is as healthy for your body as it is enjoyable!
Join us to kick-off the summer season making healthy mocktails with Marie-Lies of Fleur and Forage. We'll walk the farm and harvest fresh herbs to use in a variety of delightful, summertime drinks and discuss their medicinal benefits. Learn to work with herbs like lemon balm, anise hyssop and mountain mint to make your own mocktails at home. Participants will bring home a jar of herbal mocktail base, and also have the opportunity to shop the farm store for herbal vinegars, fresh and dried herbs and plant starts for their own home Apothecary.
Marie-Lies Van Asten is a community herbalist in Atlanta, Ga. Over the years, she has studied with various teachers such as Rosemary Gladstar, Lorna Mauney-Brodek, Patricia Kyritsi-Howell, Cathy Skipper, Leslie Williams, Brooke Sullivan among many others. However, it is not until she joined the Herbalista Crew in 2018 that she found her herbal path as a community herbalist. She officially launched the Fleur + Forage Free Clinic in 2022, and it became a 501c3 in June 2024. For the past four years, the Fleur and Forage Free Clinic has focused on serving herbs to people who experience homelessness and using herbal medicine to build connection and community.
