Wild Fermentation with Caleb Arnold, June 28

$85.00

Join us for a wildly fun and delicious afternoon with Forager Caleb Arnold of Everwilder Farms. We’ll harvest Organic farm veggies, get hands-on making several great lacto- fermented recipes, and try some of his local Appalachian specialties. Food is medicine and fermentation is an ancient way of preserving and enhancing nutrients for later consumption. Learn how to make flavorful sodas from medicinal plants in your yard and how to put away the bounty of summer for winter consumption in the form of sour kraut/ kim-chi. We’ll discuss the history and making of other classic ferments like switchel. You’ll take home ferments made in class to finish and enjoy later.

The recipes are easy and can be completed at home without any special equipment or purchases. Glass jars included for take home.

Caleb has called the north Georgia mountains home his entire life. His draw to nature started at an early age and after working in various industries he was ready to return to the land. Caleb has spent the last decade learning from top instructors in the Southeast on various topics of herbalism, foraging, wilderness survival and more. He continues to educate himself in such topics through experiential learning at his farm with his partner and daughter. Together they started Ever Wilder with the hopes of bringing awareness to the locally available food and medicine in the region.  He's given hundreds of educational tours and workshops to thousands of people who pass through Ever Wilder in Ellijay, GA. Caleb and his family strive on a daily basis to learn and practice more sustainable ways of life.
