RECIPE: Ayurvedic Kitchari using our Farm Wellness Broth Base. Healing for the gut and supportive for the Immune system:
Ingredients:
2 Tbsp ghee
Three finger pinch of each cumin and mustard seed
½ Cup Split mung bean
½ cup brown basmati rice
3-3.5 cups water, depending on how mushy you like your kitchari! Optional: use chicken broth instead of water for extra gut healing benefits and flavor.
Directions:
Heat a pot with ghee and add a 3 finger pinch of mustard seed. When it begins to pop, add a 3 finger pinch of cumin seed. Stir and fry the spices until cumin is brown and seeds are popping (about another 2 mins). Crush garlic clove and remove skin. Add the broth base to pot and stir mix into the ghee mixture for a minute. Add beans and rice blend and water, simmer for 35-45 minutes until cooked!
